Aside from using it as a test area for trying out new embed codes and other work-related stuff, I haven’t updated pushthepulldoor.com since March of this year.  That’s about nine months of inactivity–you’d think I was incubating a fetus for that span.  (Actually, that’s what my wife’s doing right now, but hers won’t pop until June.)

Anyway, I’m not sure what’s come over me lately, but I’ve had a massive urge to post, and I didn’t feel right just throwing my little missives onto the ugly, outdated test site I had going.  I don’t know what’s got me wanting to write–stress at home, frustration (and stress) at work, prolonged (perhaps stress-related) illness, who knows?–but I decided I couldn’t start posting again without making some changes to my existing blog.  I even thought about starting over at a new URL, but I’ve actually done that three or four times (you should see how many domains I own) and I always keep coming back to this one.

So, I looked into redoing the template for the site and starting from relative scratch.  And since I’ve been frustrated with Movable Type for a while now, I decided to go back to Wordpress for a second time.  (By the way, did you know the Wordpress blogging platform highlights the word “Wordpress” as a misspelled word when you type it in?  Just found that out.)  I know I’m lame for using a default template, but I’m no designer, and the templates that are readily available for WP are so nice!  Way better than the standard MT templates.  I couldn’t do better than this one if I tried.  Though I may, eventually.

Stick around if you’re interested in seeing what that looks like.  It probably won’t be pretty.
