Pure genius. This is quickly becoming the viral hit of 2010–there’s even a radio-friendly version on the way. If that carries the same punch, maybe it’ll be hot enough to get Cee-Lo a Grammy nod.

I totally forgot I still had this on Youtube and rediscovered it while looking for another video. This is actually part two–where I confront Maddie about her bad language. Part one was where she first went off on a tourette’s-like rant in the car. I took that one down because we kept getting hate mail from people who thought we were awful parents. They may have been right, but they didn’t need to be so mean about it.
BTW, Maddie hasn’t dropped an f-bomb in about four years, so I don’t think this ruined her for life. Just sayin’, judgmental peers.
Never a Year Like ‘09

If you’re a fan of Jib Jab’s annual year-in-review videos, you’ll definitely want to watch this year’s edition. The team took a different approach to this one, eschewing standard flash animation for a mix of stop motion and other techniques. The end result is impressive–it makes you wonder why they don’t go with this method more often in their other videos.

Even cooler than the video, though, is reading about (and watching) the steps that went into making it. The guys at Jib Jab blogged the entire process, breaking down everything from the conceptualization to the execution. As someone who creates content for the web (though not exactly in this vein), I found it fascinating. Even if I hadn’t liked the video, I think I would’ve appreciated the glimpse at the process.
